PREACH “THE” GOSPEL
Ensil Edmonds provoked my
mind to make this study at June campmeeting 1997.
The commandment, to preach Jesus throughout the world, is not to preach Jesus as an idol ( the second person of the “HOLY TRINITY” nor The HOLY GHOST as the third person) as the Catholic church and her daughters preach, but to preach the complete Bibilical picture of the order and doctrines that will completely form us into the image of God.
·
(Eph
4:10-13 KJV) "He that descended is
the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all
things.) {11} And he gave some,
apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers; {12} For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ: {13} Till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the
measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:"
· (1 Pet 1:25 KJV) "But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."
·
(2
Cor 3:18 KJV) "But we all, with
open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the
same image from glory to glory, even
as by the Spirit of the Lord."
· (2 Cor 4:1 KJV) "Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;"
·
(2
Cor 10:13-17 KJV) "But we will not
boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to
reach even unto you. {14} For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as
though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in
preaching the gospel of Christ: {15} Not boasting of things without our
measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is
increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
{16} To preach the gospel in the regions
beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to
our hand. {17} But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."
·
·
(Acts
20:25-27 KJV) "And now, behold, I
know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching
the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. {26} Wherefore
I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. {27} For I have not shunned to declare unto you all
the counsel of God."
·
(Rom
10:14-17 KJV) "How then shall they
call on him in whom they have not believed? and how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and
how shall they hear without a preacher?
{15} And how shall they preach, except
they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the
feet of them that preach the gospel
of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! {16} But they have not all
obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? {17} So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God."
·
(Rom
15:19 KJV) "Through mighty signs
and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and
round about unto Illyricum, I have fully
preached the gospel of Christ."
·
It is a incomplete thought, according to the new testaments full concept, to just say “it is written” referring to the Bible says thus and so. The full concept of the New Testament is the Word is to be committed to faithful men who will preach the whole truth. Our believing the Word that’s preached is the way we are saved. The following scriptures will shed light on this thought.
·
(1 Cor 15:1-2 KJV) "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you
the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein
ye stand; {2} By which also ye are saved, if ye keep
in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."
·
(Mat
3:1-3 KJV) "In those days came John
the Baptist, preaching in the
wilderness of Judaea, {2} And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is
at hand. {3} For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make
his paths straight."
·
(Mat
4:23 KJV) "And Jesus went about all
Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching
the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all
manner of disease among the people."
·
(Mat
10:5-8 KJV) "These twelve Jesus
sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles,
and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: {6}
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. {7} And as ye go, preach, saying, The
kingdom of heaven is at hand. {8} Heal the sick,
cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received,
freely give."
·
(Mat
10:24-28 KJV) "The disciple is not
above his master, nor the servant above his lord. {25} It
is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his
lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more
shall they call them of his household? {26} Fear them not therefore: for there
is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be
known. {27} What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye
in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. {28} And
fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
·
(Mat
11:5-6 KJV) "The blind receive
their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the
gospel preached to them. {6} And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in
me."
·
(Mat
12:41 KJV) "The men of Nineveh
shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they
repented at the preaching of Jonas;
and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here."
·
(Mat
24:14 KJV) "And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall
the end come."
·
(Mat
26:13 KJV) "Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman
hath done, be told for a memorial of her."
·
(Mark
1:6-8 KJV) "And John was clothed
with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat
locusts and wild honey; {7} And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the
latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. {8} I indeed
have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy
Ghost."
·
(Mark
1:14-15 KJV) "Now after that John
was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, {15} And
saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye,
and believe the gospel."
·
(Mark
3:14-19 KJV) "And he ordained
twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, {15} And to have power to heal
sicknesses, and to cast out devils: {16} And Simon he surnamed Peter; {17} And
James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them
Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: {18} And Andrew, and Philip, and
Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and
Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, {19} And Judas Iscariot, which also
betrayed him: and they went into an house."
·
(Mark
16:15-16 KJV) "And he said unto
them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
{16} He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth
not shall be damned."
·
(Mark
16:17-19 KJV) "And these signs
shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; {18} They shall take up
serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they
shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. {19} So
then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and
sat on the right hand of God."
·
(Acts
3:18-21 KJV) "But those things, which
God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should
suffer, he hath so fulfilled. {19} Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that
your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord; {20} And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: {21} Whom the heaven
must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath
spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began."
·
(Acts
4:1-3 KJV) "And as they spake unto
the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came
upon them, {2} Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection
from the dead. {3} And they laid hands on them, and
put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide."
·
(Acts
5:42 KJV) "And daily in the temple,
and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ."
·
(Acts
6:1-4 KJV) "And in those days, when
the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the
Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily
ministration. {2} Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto
them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and
serve tables. {3} Wherefore, brethren, look ye out
among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom
we may appoint over this business. {4} But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of
the word."
·
(Acts
8:4-5 KJV) "Therefore they that
were scattered abroad went every where preaching
the word. {5} Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them."
·
(Mat
24:14 KJV) "And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall
the end come."
·
(Acts
10:42 KJV) "And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify
that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and
dead."
·
(Acts
15:35-36 KJV) "Paul also and
Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. {36} And
some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren
in every city where we have preached the
word of the Lord, and see how they do."
·
(Acts
17:2-4 KJV) "And Paul, as his
manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of
the scriptures, {3} Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered,
and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. {4} And some
of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a
great multitude, and of the chief women not a few."
·
(Acts
20:7-10 KJV) "And upon the first
day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on
the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. {8} And
there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
{9} And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen
into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching,
he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken
up dead. {10} And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said,
Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him."
·
(Rom
10:8 KJV) "But what saith it? The
word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of
faith, which we preach;"
·
(1
Cor 9:16-19 KJV) "For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to
glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! {17} For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if
against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. {18} What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the
gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. {19} For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself
servant unto all, that I might gain the more."
(1 Pet 4:6
KJV) "For for this cause was the
gospel preached also to them that
are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live
according to God in the spirit."
·
(1
Cor 15:10-14 KJV) "But by the grace
of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in
vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of
God which was with me. {11} Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. {12} Now if Christ be preached
that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no
resurrection of the dead? {13} But if there be no resurrection of the dead,
then is Christ not risen: {14} And if Christ be not
risen, then is our preaching vain,
and your faith is also vain."
·
(2
Tim 2:1-2 KJV) "Thou therefore, my
son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. {2} And
the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
·
(Rev
14:6 KJV) "And I saw another angel
fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the
earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,"
·
(Titus
1:3 KJV) "But hath in due times
manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to
the commandment of God our Saviour;"
·
(Titus
1:5-9 KJV) "For this cause left I
thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set
in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: {6} If any be
blameless, the husband of one wife, having
faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. {7} For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon
angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; {8} But a lover of hospitality, a
lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; {9} Holding fast the faithful word as he hath
been taught, that he may be able by
sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."
·
(1
Tim 2:12 KJV) "But I suffer not a
woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in
silence."
·
(1
Tim 3:1-13 KJV) "This is a true
saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he
desireth a good work. {2} A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one
wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
{3} Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not
a brawler, not covetous; {4} One that ruleth well his own house, having his
children in subjection with all gravity; {5} (For if a man know not how to rule
his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) {6} Not a novice,
lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. {7}
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall
into reproach and the snare of the devil. {8} Likewise must the deacons be
grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not
greedy of filthy lucre; {9} Holding the
mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. {10} And
let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being
found blameless. {11} Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober,
faithful in all things. {12} Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife,
ruling their children and their own houses well. {13} For they that have used
the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great
boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus."
(2 Tim 1:6-18
KJV) "Wherefore I put thee in
remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting
on of my hands. {7} For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind. {8} Be not thou therefore ashamed of the
testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the
afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; {9} Who hath saved us,
and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according
to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the
world began, {10} But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour
Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality
to light through the gospel: {11} Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an
apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. {12} For the
which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I
know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which
I have committed unto him against that day. {13} Hold
fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love
which is in Christ Jesus. {14} That good thing which
was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. {15} This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned
away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. {16} The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed
of my chain: {17} But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently,
and found me. {18} The Lord grant unto him that he may
find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto
me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well."
·
(2
Tim 2:1-5 KJV) "Thou therefore, my
son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. {2} And
the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who
shall be able to teach others also. {3} Thou therefore endure hardness, as
a good soldier of Jesus Christ. {4} No man that warreth
entangleth himself with the affairs of this life;
that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. {5} And if a man also
strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully."
·
(2
Tim 2:15 KJV) "Study to show
thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
·
(1
Tim 4:14-16 KJV) "Neglect not the
gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of
the hands of the presbytery. {15} Meditate upon these things; give thyself
wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. {16} Take heed unto
thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue
in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear
thee."
·
(Gal
6:4-6 KJV) "But let every man prove
his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in
another. {5} For every man shall bear his own burden.
{6} Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things."
·
This scripture refers to a minister.
